Why Choose Gemini Smile Gold?

In a rapidly growing industry where new gold options appear every day, it’s fair to ask, why choose Gemini Smile?

As a Tooth Gem Tech myself, I’ve asked the same question while shopping for my own supplies. I know how overwhelming it can be to sort through endless options, and I want to share why you can trust Gemini Smile gold.

How I Got Here

I’ve been in the Tooth Gem industry since 2018. Back then, Tooth Gems weren’t nearly as popular, and quality gold options were limited. Many of the designs available weren’t made with teeth in mind, and consistency in quality was hard to find.

I had so many ideas for charms I wanted to apply, and I knew that if I committed myself fully, I could bring something better to the industry. In 2022, I officially started my gold journey with one goal in mind: to create new high-quality gold Tooth Gems that actually work.

Designed by a Tech for Techs

My first goal in creating gold charms was to bring fresh designs into the Tooth Gem world.

At the time, most gold charms were inspired by body modification and traditional tattoo or piercing styles. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know that my style leans much more girly-pop and sparkle-forward, which is probably why Tooth Gems caught my eye in the first place.

That inspiration led to collections like my Fruit Collection and Flora Collection. While I do follow trends when clients are asking for them, the majority of my designs are exclusive to Gemini Smile and created to reach new audiences.

I’m also constantly paying attention to gaps in the market. As a tech who applies gold charms myself, I shop for gold just like everyone else. When I can’t find what I’m looking for, I create it.

Made for Teeth

After working with over 500 Tooth Gem clients, I’ve seen it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I’ve received gold charms that were too flimsy, too bulky, poorly detailed, or simply not designed to last on a tooth. I wanted to create the Goldilocks of Tooth Gems: not too much, not too little, but just right.

To do that, I focus on three non-negotiables: gold quality, design, and retention.

18k Solid Gold

This part matters, so I’ll say it clearly: every Gemini Smile gold charm is solid 18k gold, never plated.

If it’s not solid gold, it doesn’t belong on your teeth. Plated or gold-filled charms can wear down over time, exposing base metals that are not meant for long-term contact in the mouth. That’s not a risk I’m willing to take with my clients, and it’s not something I’ll sell to yours.

Higher karats than 18k are too soft and can scratch or dull with normal wear. Lower karats contain more alloys than I’m comfortable with for long-term oral use. Solid 18k gold hits the sweet spot, it’s durable, safe, and made to last.

That’s why every Gemini Smile charm is solid 18k gold. No plating. No shortcuts. No compromises.

Designed for Teeth

Designing charms for teeth is more complicated than it seems.

I prioritize sizing that works for most clients and most teeth, avoid overly complex details that don’t translate at a few millimeters, and most importantly, every charm is slightly curved. Teeth are not flat, and your gold shouldn’t be either.

All Gemini Smile gold charms are gently curved, similar to a braces bracket, so they lay flush against the tooth. If you ever need to adjust a charm to match a tricky tooth, this video walks you through how to safely bend gold charms for the perfect fit.

Built for Retention

This is my biggest non-negotiable. I will not charge a client for a service I don’t believe will last, and neither should you. That’s why every Gemini Smile gold charm has a textured backing. This is completely intentional.

That texture allows dental composite to flow into the grooves and truly lock the charm onto the tooth, just like orthodontic brackets. Without texture, retention is compromised, and in my opinion, not worth the investment.

Looking Ahead

As I write this, my gold collection is small but mighty. I can’t wait to look back on this post in a few years and see how much it’s grown.

If there’s a design you’ve been searching for and haven’t been able to find, reach out. I’m always up for the challenge.

Xoxo,
